How to Market yourself?
1. How to Market yourself?
I.e How to put you or your work out there for people to listen?
It’s simple.
Tell a story. Your story.
How you do things, what you like, what you don’t like, share your process, show your behind the scenes, make cool things and put them out.
In the words of Jake Parker “Making IS Marketing”.
That’s how you start. The rest are tactics. This is the meat.
2. My Favourite Show on TV
“Toys that made us” on Netflix is by far one of my favourite shows at the moment.
Each episode goes behind the history and making of a Toy-Line we are grew up with (Like transformers, He-man, Lego, Barbie).
The story of how these toys came about are straight up fascinating! And its surprising to know that some of my favourite cartoons and TV shows were started just as a means to promote the toy (Yup, He-man and Transformers)
Give it a watch! You might like it :)
3. Favourite Quote from last week
"Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?”
“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cat.
“I don’t much care where—” said Alice.
“Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,” said the Cat.
-Conversation between Alice and the Cheshire Cat, from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.
And that's it for this week folks.
Talk to you next week!
Best,
Kesh
