Getting Bad at Art

1. Getting Bad at Art

I've been busy working on my first animated short film and I gotta tell you. It's coming out great!

It's all coming together.

But as I'm working on this project, my other parts of my 'art skills' are falling apart.

My ability to draw from life, photos or anatomy. All getting worse. I was trying to draw 'Eddie' from stranger things 4 and I was having a hard time doing it...

And I think this is normal. 'Regression is a normal part of the process'. When you are focused on one thing, the other things seem to fall back. It's fine. One can always pick it up. I used to get frustrated at this, but now, this mindset seems to help me be at peace with the fact that everything can't be at 100% all the time.

2. TV shows and Books I've been reading a lot and watching some cool shows. Obviously, Stranger things 4 is one. And it was fantastic as usual (minus some cliché things they did) Definitely watch it. Here's @yonsoncb on Instagram, who drew 'Eddie' in his style. Loved this one

And here's the book that's REALLY helping me again (I'm re-reading it)

3) Favorite Quote of the Week "It's easy to be seduced by the world of potentiality. A book is always greatest before it's written. You are intoxicated by what it can be. That's very dangerous. You want to kill those seductions as quickly as possible, and one way to achieve that is fast iteration. Make known the unknown; murder your fantasies" - Craig Mod That's all for this week folks :) See you in the next one. Cheers, Kesh

1. Carpe Diem I didn't know this before. There's this 'Stoic' principle called 'Carpe Diem' - which roughly translates to 'Seize the day'. And the whole idea is this, You'll only get ONE shot today
