Don't be scared of AI?

1. Ethical AI?

So, I came across this little 'Anime' that was made using AI tools and watching the making of it made me wonder, Can we have ethical versions of AI tools? Because in this video, the makers used Anime style images (copyrighted) and images of themselves to create the content. What if we just feed our art into a model that doesn't use non-consensual work to help fasten up the 2d animation process? That would bring 2d animation back to the mainstream! Here's the Animation ๐Ÿ‘‡

And here's the making of it.

2. Don't be Scared of AI?

I had the chance of speaking to an AI research assistant on how this technology works and during our conversation, she told me... "Artist don't have to be scared of it" I asked her why. She said (and I'm paraphrasing) These models are not as powerful as people make it to be and they need constant retraining. These will only evolve to be tools that helps artists and not the other way around. Of course, we agreed on certain jobs going away but at the end of the day, its a tool. Her being an artist, along with playing in this industry gives her this perspective. Anyways, time will tell. And I know I'll be drawing 50 years from now. And I'm prepping for the apocalypse.
