The Struggle of the Beginner Artist

Have you ever seen these accomplished artists on social media creating beautiful artwork and wondered -

“man, how do they draw so well?“

You wonder how talented they are and often wish you could draw just like them.

You even...try it yourself,

You grab the pencil and start drawing.

But after a few minutes you realize

(it looks like shit) and tell yourself that you are probably not as talented as them and cry yourself to sleep.

But is Art a Talent or Skill?

Art is, but drawing isn’t.

Wait.. what does this even mean? Well, let me explain.

The Oxford Dictionary describes

IMG_5983.JPG

Art: the use of the imagination to express ideas or feelings

IMG_5983.JPG

Drawing: a picture made

using a pencil or pen

IMG_5983.JPG

What this tells is,

'Anyone born with a desire to create, can make Art'

Drawing is a medium to make art - it's a skill which can be learnt with deliberate and consistent practice

Okay, if that's the case, why do I still suck at it? Why am I not improving?

Well.. I've wondered the same thing, for so many years.

I was spinning my wheel around by

- ▶️ Consuming tons of YouTube tutorials which never worked

🎓 Buying countless number of courses which I never finished

- ✏️ And by "Drawing More" hoping to get better

None of that worked until I changed the way I approached things.. I started focusing on Fundamentals.

You might’ve been reading so far and think,

"Yeah that makes sense, of course you need these

fundamentals in order to improve but what if...

I want to draw anime, or…

I want to draw stylized portraits, or..

I want to draw characters, it’s different..

but guess what, it’s not.

That’s why they are called fundamentals, because they are primary principles on which everything else is based on. They always come first.

Why are Fundamentals important?

If you want to reach HERE.

You gotta start from HERE.

The fundamentals of art are what I consider to be

the building blocks of an artwork.

(Kesh)

This is ONE MISTAKE I see in every artist.

What if I tell you there is a way to work on these fundamentals with just 20-30 minutes of daily practice?

Well, this is where I introduce you to my program ‘Drawing Camp’

How is Drawing Camp different from any other program?

Have you ever bought an Online Course and have failed to complete it?

Well, I have! and that's why I designed this to be a 'follow along' PROGRAM. Think of this like one of those workout videos, but for drawing.

Each Day's video has a Lesson and the Exercise based on the teachings of that lesson.

All you need to do is, Show up, Press Play and Follow along. At the end of 20 Mins, you'll be done!
